the most precious

I was kinda having a sick thought - what is the most valuable human asset??
I always believed that it could be education. It is obtainable through the live, but I started to think that we are just biological beings... There is only one instant between two eternities (birth and death) ....

Please write what do you think is the most precious thing, and then I will write my thought... (Answers like "my grandad's watch" are actually also really good in the discussion)

Actually, i can not wait - I would rather expose my thought to your critique, so we all could laugh at it and say it was an imbecile idea. So, my imbecile idea was, that the most precious asset of a human is a genetic code, which we all are trying to push forward at any cost... Just this random combination of the aminoacids in a double-helix coil...

This weekend we had a little bit of S&M:

Then we made some friends .... they had such sad eyes ... :'(

After chatting to us they were quite happy and smily...
Dominating

In some cultures people like to dominate upon other people. But, unfortunately, they are not capable to control the situation and others, moreover, they are not responsible ... So, excuse me! Why do they take such responsibilities without being able or capable to keep things under their control, efficiently manage resources, come up with ideas, etc and so on ?!?!...

I would speculate that this is the way of achieving the superiority above others, but not in the way of one's growth and personal development, but rather in a way of cutting down other's supplies and putting others down below. Could it be a survival technique developed while living in a high-dense society? Kind of the Law of Jungle?

This cultural issue is still under research... So I still can not report the final observations.

Meeting

Meetings are the best group timewasters. One can use this tool in order to effectively waste time in bulk.

Example: 1hr meeting + 10 attandees = at least 10 working hours wasted plus some time for meeting preparation and going there and coming back... and then coming back on tracks to the work set off on hold for the duration of the meeting. I would say, the above example wastes about 18 working hours.
Double this time if your meeting lasts for two hrs instead of one.

Solution: To hold meetings individually with the required parties.

Sport - medals - Olympic games - correlations

The Olympic Games are over - thanks god.
So far, what is the most sportiff nation of the World??
China or USA??? hehe, of course not. Let me prove my point considering the top seven nations by the total number of medals claimed (and then consider the population):

Country - medals - population %-age of medals per citizen ;-)
USA - 110 - 301,139,947 - 0.0000365279%
China - 100 - 1,321,851,888 - 0.0000075651%
Russia - 72 - 141,377,752 - 0.0000509274%
Britain - 47 - 60,776,238 - 0.0000773329%
Australia - 46 - 20,434,176 - 0.0002251131%
Germany - 41 - 82,400,996 - 0.0000497567%
France - 40 - 60,876,136 - 0.0000657072%

Conclusion: Out of seven countries considered:
Australia is the most sportiff country!!! Felicitations! It is three times more sportiff than Britain, which is almost the same as France... USA is number 6 (out of 7) and China is the last in my list.... So, Australia is 30 times more sportiff country!!!

more cultural discoveries - sport

Here we have a quite considerable percentage of Chinese students... But I have never seen them in a gym ... I mean they don't go there on a regular basis, but may occasionally turn up when bored.. And generally speaking they don't look any fit at all. That is quite surprising for me they have so many medals at the Olympic Games, if sport is not a part of their culture.

Also another observation - I have never seen black people swimming in a swimming pool...

P.S. I don't jump to any conclusions, but just give observation.

Consideration - the cultural difference

What is the difference between the "european" and other cultures, let us say Asian, Oriental, African, etc, an so on????

I would say being considerate to the people surrounding us. We all try to create the minimal disturbance to others around us.

If someone sleeps we walk around on tip toes, if someone makes us generous offer we would rather decline it, we do not rely on the outside help unless the situation is really helpless and there is no way it could be soved by us, we do not disturb or call other people with no reason... etc... we live quiet and prefer to keep low profiles...

Other cultures do not have this

P.S. American culture had developed from the European, therefore, I consider it European here.

Sunbathing - cultural difference

Why do we actually sunbath? And why do we find the tanned color of the skin exciting? I have never thought about it until some of my Chinese colleagues asked. And then I realized that in China people do not subath. They actually use the parasols to keep themselves in a permanent shadow.

The cultural difference is briefly explained somewhere in the middle of this podcast. Starting on 2m12s...

Katyusha...

Katyusha in Chinese
Is it the international friendship and cooperation, or just export of Propaganda??
The books of Maxim Gorki, Sholokhov and Ostrovsky's "How the Steel Was Tempered" are very popular and are read in school as a part of compulsory literature course
